Carribean Islands

The Caribbean is a region consisting of the Caribbean Sea, its islands (most of which are enclosed by the sea), and the surrounding coasts.

The region is located southeast of the Gulf of Mexico and North America, east of Central America, and to the north of South America. Situated largely on the Caribbean Plate, the region comprises more than 7,000 islands, islets, reefs, and cays.

These islands, called the West Indies, generally form island arcs that delineate the eastern and northern edges of the Caribbean Sea. The region consists of the Antilles, divided into the larger Greater Antilles which bound the sea on the north, the Lesser Antilles on the south and east (including the Leeward Antilles).

Tropical climate

The climate of the region is tropical.

The region enjoys year-round sunshine, divided into 'dry' and 'wet' seasons.

The waters of the Caribbean Sea host large, migratory schools of fish, turtles, dolphins and enable to discover "némo world" with the coral reef formations.

Guadeloupe is located in the French Caribbean Islands. It is composed of seven islands and more 50 beaches and numerous waterfalls, which are the reasons why it is called « island of beautiful waters ». It has only two seasons, the summer and hurricane seasons.

The temperature is generally between 17° C and 33° C all year long. The particularity of the island consists in its butterfly shape. The lower part of the island is mountainous and volcanic, with many waterfalls, rivers and beautiful landscape.

One can do many activities such as scuba diving, surfing, cannoning or hiking in the tropical forest, etc…

The other side of the island is very flat with a lot of beautiful beaches where one can do kite surfing.

One can also visit the cane sugar factory, the rum museum and admire extraordinary and magical sun risings and sunsets.

More! Guadeloupe is composed in 7 small and beautiful islands you can discover on week-end by boat or catamaran.[...]
